Fiscal Year 2022 JICA Small and Medium Enterprise Development Policies (A) (June – July 2022)

With cooperation from central and regional governments, organizations, enterprises, etc., the measures taken to develop small and medium enterprises in Japan was introduced, as well as this, examples from participant’s countries were shared. The goal of this program was to provide a draft to solve selected challenges in participants’ countries.

Because of the Coronavirus situation, this fiscal year’s program was conducted as a remote program.
Participants’ work was repeatedly analyzed and action plans constructed. Prof. HIRAI’s enthusiastic, creative and pertinent advice online extracted participants’ opinions and an exchange of ideas.

Because the program was conducted online and because of the time difference, some participants had to begin their session at 2:00am local time. Despite this, all participants seriously participated in the course. Due to communications network problems, some participants had their connection cut off. However, the participation rate was high, and with repeated participation, the group began to feel united and each participant was able to complete their topic’s action plan.

In particular, the example of small and medium enterprise management in the lecture given by Kinki Industrial Co. Ltd.’s manager and real on-site messages helped to deepen participants’ learning experience.
