Report on the lecture”Business management, Japanese Approach”(19th of December,2011)
Under the patronage of Aleppo Chamber of Industry ACI and the Japanese Alumni Association in Syria JAAS, a lecture on Kaizen and the Synthetic Business Management program SBM “Business Management, Japanese Approach” was given on the 19th of December 2011 in the ACI main hall. Attendees was of different backgrounds and levels, members of ACI board, ACI specialized committees, industrialists of public and private sectors, university teachers, researchers and students…etc.
Ex SBM 2010 Mr. Imad HAIDAR, general manager of “Yamam, fancy yarns & tufts” have
carried out a lecture on Kaizen activities “Business Management, Japanese Approach” which was learned during an SBM course in JICA Osaka/Japan. Yamam is a private sector company in Aleppo-Syria.
SBM program have started in Aleppo in the year 2006, SBM trainees was mainly of the public sector, till the year 2009 when companies of the private sector and the staff of the ACI have started to be nominated for the course.
Activities of Ex SBM teams have started in the year 2010 with lectures about the program in ACI and involved different background of attendees such as Business Woman’s Committee of ACI, industrial members of public and private sectors of different specialties…etc., and some other general lectures.
The lecture which was held on the 19th of December “Business Management, Japanese Approach” concentrated on Kaizen, SBM and its different chapters, it talked about :
- Japan, Japanese people, life and work.
- The goal.
- Improvement activities.
- Planning and management policies for improvements.
- TPS Toyota Production Systems.
- Quality Management TQM & TPM.
General approach of the lecture was towards implementing and accommodating the activities within the local industrial environment, opening a door for attendees and industrialists to be able to understand and implement the activities within the local environment.
The audience was interested in the information given, many questions were exchanged between the attendees and the lecturer, they showed their need of such knowledge and expressed big interest in attending more lectures and workshops of equal and more advanced levels of the subject in the future.
Ex SBM in Syria are contributing in the transfer of the knowledge and technology, Kaizen activities and the Japanese culture and state of mind in Syria.
The lecture was followed by an introductory seminar on JAAS and its activities and practices in Syria, Dr. Mustafa AL AGHBAR president of JAAS discussed the activities, ACI board members and attendees showed their interest in initializing a chapter of JAAS in Aleppo city for more active future.
