Eat & Co., Chuo-ku, Osaka (Osaka office) (April, 2014)
This company serves as the head office of franchise outlets and manages direct management of them, including Osaka Ohsho, a Chinese food eatery chain, and Yottekoya, a ramen specialty restaurant chain. It is also an Osaka-born company engaged in the production and wholesaling of the food materials for its affiliated outlets. Its second pillar is food product sales, producing and selling frozen food and other products for clients outside the restaurant business.
In the seminars, the company kindly provides explanations, at its Kansai factory in Hirakata, regarding the strategies and outlet development for its brands, as well as its product development and human-resource development. The participants are also given a “gyoza” (dumpling) making experience.
In recent years, many of the visitors to the factory have been seminar participants from Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz, etc.). The visits are extremely useful for these participants, whose region contains a large number of companies in the same field as Eat & Co., a service and also food-industry company.
The gyoza-making experience sessions lead to exchanges with people at the factory, including participants explaining the difference in shape between “mantu,” which is part of Central Asian food culture, and that of gyoza.

- Seminar participants from Uzbekistan pay a visit. Although they could not do the gyoza-making experience session on that day, they did sample some gyoza that were handmade by pros. (Although pork is normally used for the restaurants’ gyoza, it was substituted for beef on this day.)
