Attended the FY 2010 JICA Central America and Caribbean Countries Regional Industrial Development by Public-Private Partnership
The plan is to operate a community-based restaurant at a location about a 15-minute drive from the city of Apoja. We refered to Nakao Noen and the Ateliers Road, which we visited while in Japan. Attached to the site would be a pond of tilapia freshwater fish, and customers could catch the fish and cook it in the kitchen, while the restaurant would provide vegetables, fruit, pulse and other agricultural crops grown by the local people together with chickens and other fowl they raise. In addition, agricultural products from the region, regional crafts and other items would be available at stalls on the site so that people from the cities to buy. Financial support would be acquired from a credit guarantee association. Knowhow in tilapia fish cultivation is being built up, and now we are in the stage of building cohesion among the residents of the region.
