From Mr. Khaldoun, we received a PDF file of a booklet titled “JORDAN: BRINGING RENEWABLE ENERGY TO MARKET, Role and Achievements of the Jordanian Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) Regarding Renewable Energy Legislations in Jordan.’” The cover page was adorned with a photo of wind power generation systems.
Mr. Khaldoun is one of the three ERC members who wrote the booklet..In order to promote the introduction of Jordan’s renewable energy,ERC has drawn up new rules and regulations regarding “Directive Governing the Sale of Electrical Energy Generated from Renewable Energy Systems (Net Metering for small, rooftop Renewable Energy System)”; “Reference Pricelist Record including preferential prices for local contents (local manufacturing)”; “Directive for the Costs of Connecting Renewable Energy Facility to the Distribution System”; “Directive of Electric Power Wheeling”. The plan on “Directive Governing the Sale of Electrical Energy Generated from Renewable Energy Systems (Net Metering for small, rooftop Renewable Energy System)”was proposed in an action plan that Mr. Khaldoun had wanted to implement from the time he was on a trip to Japan. We had heard that he began these activities shortly after his return home. Receiving this report and seeing the results in such a visible way moved us a lot.Thanks to Mr. Khaldoun, who used Facebook to call upon other seminar participants to gather in Japan, we may now see a reunion here in the near future. We look forward to find out about Mr. Khaldoun’s further activities.
