Toward reducing suspended particle matter in the air over the city of Xian, China Dispatch of specialists, improvement of air quality (June. 6-13, 2012)
The project’s orientation
With the dispatch of specialists to Xian, which was implemented as the initial activity of a project carried out in the three-year plan, the five-member China tour — comprising four city workers from Kyoto working in the field of air quality improvement and one project manager from PREX — traveled to local areas from June 6-13. Through the cooperation of Xian City’s bureaus of science and technology and environmental protection, a survey on the situation of suspended particle matter in the air above Xian was conducted, a seminar by the city of Kyoto was held, and discussions took place on policies of future three-year projects.
- Thanks to the effects of the rain that fell on the third day since our arrival in Xian, we were able to see the beautiful sky of Xian.
- Photos were taken on the final day of the seminar to preserve the memory. Former participants who returned home and other nostalgic folks come out for us, and we all had an extremely enjoyable time.
