Mr.Mamytov Ulukman, who is from Kyrgyz and participated in a seminar implemented by PREX in 2012, is currently studying at Kyoto University. He has created his own home page that provides information in Russian and English, as he wants more people to learn about the things he felt at Japanese companies through the seminars. We have a contribution from Mr.Mamytov Ulukman about his activities since the seminar.

I participated in the seminar held in Japan for two weeks in 2012, and it was the first time for me to get the chance to actually see Japanese businesses. We visited several companies in Osaka and Tokyo through arrangements made by JICA and PREX. This experience became my first step toward a deep understanding the question of, “What is the essence behind the creation of a truly good business?” “The company’s mission,” “the passion to continue on with Kaizen” and “real teamwork” were the most impressive three points.

I returned home to Kyrgyz after the seminar ended and did a good job of conveying Japanese management philosophy to Kyrgyz business people, and I deepened their appreciation so that they started to think about putting these things into action. I believe that the mission, Kaizen and teamwork of Japanese companies are very beneficial to give businesses in Kyrgyz sustainable and long-term success. Thus, I started considering the opportunity to learn about Japanese businesses to a greater extent, actually in Japan.

I am now in Japan to study for an MBA. And I have launched my home page, called “Everkaizen,” for more people to acquire the correct knowledge about Japanese business. (However, its management and other issues are currently being reviewed.) In addition, the Japanese and foreign students at the Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University, regularly hold discussions about the differences in business between Japan and other countries. So the plan now is to establish a “business club.” Along with having deeper discussions, it would also involve alumni and actual business managers. Currently, the business club homepage is about to be launched. I am thinking about applying the concepts of Everkaizen and improving them further and having the page running by the end of May.

My student life in Kyoto runs until 2018, but I still want to press ahead with various plans together with team members. I am now living with my family, and life in Kyoto is very comfortable. I also feel really happy to be doing research and social activities with an international team of students.
