Ms. GYEKYE Jane Asiedua, Trainer and Assistant Motivator and at the Business Advisory Center,
Entrepreneurship Development Department, National Board for Small Scale Industries
Ms. Gyekye took part in the JICA Productivity Enhancement for Management Improvement of SMEs in African Countries Seminar in fiscal 2010. The National Board for Small Scale Industries to which she belongs is a public institution that implements business support for micro and small enterprises. It has regional offices nationwide in the country’s 10 main provinces. Through 110 Business Advisory Centers nationwide,support and guidance are given directly in such fields as business management, bookkeeping and how to make a business plan. Ms. Gyekye studied the effectiveness of Kaizen for Japanese companies during her seminar and then began her own outreach activities. At first, she brought together people involved in regional businesses and then later conducted guidance for 5S activities for a soybean production company and a fruit production company, which had indicated an interest for such instruction.
