Introducing workshops discovered in Japan

As a consultant, I have been engaged in human-resource development and improving business skills and performance since 2008. I participated in PREX seminars in fiscal 2014 where I learned about Japanese “Kaizen” and standards. Now, I am trying to introduce these to companies in Kazakhstan. In addition to holding Kaizen seminars for companies 50 times, I have been involved in Kaizen project consulting for a beer brewery, construction company and kindergarten. In my seminars and consulting, I incorporate the things I learned by experience in Japan such as practical training that employs workshops and tools.

Wanting to create seminar programs with PREX in near future

Kaizen is needed for corporate development in Kazakhstan. This is now recognized on a national level compared to three years ago. Although people know about Kaizen, it cannot be competently put into practical use under current situations. Training for leaders and managers who will push forward with Kaizen will be needed. Most of Kazakhstan’s companies are small and medium-sized, and they are able to learn a lot if they go to Japan, as they lack Kaizen experience. The reality is that it’s financially difficult for them. Fortunately, the “Industrial 2020 Program” got underway from 2012. This is a program of the Industry Ministry’s Industrial Development Institute that supports SMEs. It implements policies that provide subsidies for SMEs affiliated with manufacturing in industrial fields that tackle Kaizen and energy savings. I would also like to implement seminars related to Kaizen together with PREX in the near future like the one I attended. This is because subsidies are available to enable seminars in which participants visit Japan and actually go to local sites. I am already approaching some companies, and some tell me they want to take part. To my surprise I even heard from Russian companies that said they wanted to participate. I think it would be great if companies in Kazakhstan could gain some ideas on how to properly introduce Kaizen. I am aiming to implement such seminars in the next few years and to get started with surveys.
