Promoting human-resource development for energy conservation in Shanghai Dispatch of specialists, energy conservation (Aug. 27-July. 3, 2012)

Osaka Prefecture exchanged documents in 1980 on cooperative exchanges with the city of Shanghai before exchanges took place in economics, culture and tourism. A joint proposal was made in 2005 by Osaka Prefecture and PREX for a JICA grassroots technology cooperation project. For over three years from fiscal 2006, ESCO Enterprises and energy conservation seminars have been implemented, and since last fiscal year a seminar has been conducted in line with the wishes of Shanghai to develop human resources who will spearhead energy conservation in the fields of boilers, the use of waste heat and electrical machinery systems.

Dispatch of specialists on the theme of electrical machinery systems For this year, the second year of a two-year plan, five specialists accompanied us to Shanghai from June 27-July 3 on the theme of energy conservation for electrical machinery systems (air conditioning, pumps/fans, air compressors). The group inspected energy-saving equipment at local businesses and heard from executives and equipment managers, as well as from institutions that are leading efforts to promote energy conservation.
