2012 Kankeiren ASEAN Management Seminar (Oct. 1-5, 2012)

This seminar was launched in 1980, when Kankeiren dispatched a mission to ASEAN that year and received a request from political and business leaders in various countries for “human-resource development for managers.”The current fiscal year marks the 33rd time for seminar to be implemented, and the number of seminar participants, 18, is the highest ever. Participating corporate executives from eight countries of ASEAN, Mongolia and India who are involved in manufacturing have shown a high level of interest in building networks with Japanese businesses. The participants engaged in corporate visits and opinion exchanges with Japanese business executives on the themes of “measures to deal with environmental problems,” “management strategies that win in global competition,”and “building partnerships that transcend national borders.”

Main destinations and programs: Yamaoka Industrial Corp., Monodzukuri Business Information-center Osaka, Konosuke Matsushita Museum, Panasonic Corp., Sango Industrial Metal Co., Shimadzu Corp., informal talks with business people and consultants, opinion exchanges with members of the Global MBA program at Doshisha Business School, Doshisha University, and roundtables with Japanese executives.
