[Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) – Located in Nakanoshima]

Opened in April 2000, the Osaka International Convention Center’s (aka. Grand Cube Osaka) aim is to be a center for exchange for people from around the world. It is financed by Osaka Prefecture and the Osaka business community. It contains 27 large/small MICE halls. 2025 marks the 25th year anniversary since its opening.
As of the present, over 1 million people from all over Japan and abroad have visited the center. More than 60 international conventions have been held as well as business exhibitions, academic conferences, business meetings, lectures, concerts, receptions, etc. In a busy year, over 1,500 events were held. We take pride in making a considerable contribution to Osaka’s economy and business and in promoting internationalization.

Incidentally, this year the Pacific Recourse Exchange Center celebrates the 35th anniversary of its foundation. I wish to congratulate the organization on this occasion. This makes PREX 10 years senior to the Grand Cube Osaka.
During this period, through providing training programs, it has made a contribution to the development of personnel not only focusing on the Asian region but also throughout the world. Over 30,000 participants have completed training, creating a network that covers the world. I wish to express my great respect for the achievements in consistently developing human networks for the world originating in Kansai based on the private sector’s activities.

As a commemorative event to celebrate the 35th anniversary, an international conference ‘Global Network Forum’ is scheduled to be held in October this year at the Grand Cube Osaka. To hold this significant international conference, we wish to provide financial support in order to further support PREX activities. Indeed, it is an honor for Grand Cube Osaka. We would like to continue to cooperate with PREX and support its activities.

Incidentally, Gand Cube Osaka is located in Nakanoshima, the heart of Aqua Metropolis Osaka where there are many cultural facilities including art museums and historical buildings. However, inbound tourists are not adequately informed of the charm and lure of the district, and unfortunately, many just pass through.
To change this situation, plans are being made for foreign visitors to experience the charm of Nakanoshima. Foreign visitors who visit Grand Cube Osaka will be encouraged to take Aqua Metropolis Osaka cruises, receptions will be held at art museums and historical buildings and night culture will be introduced. We believe that if they experience and get to know Nakanoshima, the district’s facilities’ charm and allure will improve and prosper.

Also, included in the Nakanoshima PR program, with the cooperation of local businesses, Nakanoshima facilities will act as a ‘Pavilion’ in spring and autumn while the Expo 2025 is being held. Art exhibitions and events will be held while the ‘Nakanoshima Pavilion Festival 2025’ is held.
During the Expo 2025 period, shuttle busses will run to and from the Expo site using Keihan Electric Railway Nakanoshima Sta. as a terminus, so, we expect many people to visit Nakanoshima. Also, during the Expo 2025, Grand Cube Osaka will hold various events related to countries participating in the Expo.

We hope that Expo 2025 will act as an opportunity to promote the allure of Nakanoshima. We also hope that the MICE facilities, of which there are few such in Asia, will fully play their role and further promote Osaka.
