Our company was established in 1953, and we currently hold the top share in the domestic market for men’s fabric shirts. We have been engaged in overseas production since 1969. We established Lao Yamaki Co., Ltd. (with 307 employees) in 2005, following similar ventures in Taiwan, Thailand and Shanghai. When we took on the Laos Japan Center Seminar in fiscal 2011, we talked to the participants out the issues for our company concerning the continuation of work duties for Laoation employees and the appointment of local people as executives. At that time, the participants introduced us, among other things, to a vocational-training school in Laos where promising human resources gather and the case of a Japanese company whose management was skillfully utilizing local people. I would like to actively use this information for our own company..

Since 2005, Yamaki has extended us kind permission to visit the company for our seminars, which are attended by instruction and working staff from the Laos Japan Center as well as students. The discussions – on why Laos was chosen as an industrial site, the original management policies behind the venture, the ensuing management issues, etc. – have been the perfect material with regard to the participants’ awareness of the issues. Active exchanges of opinions take place every time.
