This company makes thin “leaf springs,” which are precision parts indispensible for automobiles, mobile phones and such precision devices as personal computers. With a reputation for having a high level of “only one” technology, it has been named as one of “300 SMEs with vigorous monozukri” and selected in the “Made in Amagazaki Grand Prix.” In January this year, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited for an inspection. With the seminars, the company introduced specific efforts, such as how the management philosophy and strategies were being absorbed or how the employees were planning for the Kaisen activities within the company. During the field trips in the factory, the participants were given the chance to see the employees’ working conditions and the places where the products come to life.
“Each one of the employees shares the company’s philosophy and values, and by thinking about how to create value from the company’s parts, not just about their functions, is how a ‘monozukuri’ company demonstrates its strengths.” The seminar participants from various countries in Africa, Central Asia, etc. were unified in how they were impressed by this kind of comment. Inside the company, they were able to see the initiatives that started out as proposals from the workers, and the strengths of the company, which proclaims the growth of the workers as part of its management philosophy, were driven home to them.
