Hello, everybody. Do you know what the product in the photo is? This is the “three second sigh” pen stand, which is manufactured in Amagasaki. Its name refers to the time it takes to slide in the pen, inserting it vertically into the produce. The company that makes it is Zero Seiko.

Zero Seiko manufactures high precision components that are indispensable for aircraft, hydraulic equipment, etc. It manufactures the 3-second sigh as an original product, using a precision lathing process it developed. For the seminars implemented by PREX, the company has kindly allowed the participants from a variety of countries to visit year after year, as it is a company where a lot of things such as management strategy, paying attention to MONOZUKURI at the production sites, organizational management, and so on, can be learned. Over the past decade, it has employed 13 Vietnamese and has plans to take on two more this year. The Vietnamese employees learn how to do their jobs while receiving guidance from their seniors, and they approach their work with great enthusiasm. If they can do this for two years, they are said to grow to the point when they can take over from their seniors and proceed with operations on their own.
