Matsuo-nassen Co. is an SME, located in “manufacturing town” of Higashi Osaka, which specializes in dyeing processes. The company started life in 1926 in Osaka Semba doing woodblock printing. It is now involved in dyeing handkerchiefs, scarves, “zakka” and other items using silk screen processes, after advancing the state of technology in the dyeing processing field.
The company launched an environmental business division in 2011, where it is independently developing and manufacturing its own “Miraisui (“future water”) that claims efficacy for cleaning, bacteria elimination and deodorization. As for the PREX seminars, we depend on Matsuo-nassen for SME promotion policies, in addition to corporate management during the visits, lectures and field trips. The company also participates with four other Higashi Osaka-based SMEs working in a variety of fields, in the launch of the Simple Plus Style brand. These companies are providing the world with products brimming with innovation and knowledge that could only come from Higashi Osaka.
Public-sector officials in charge of SME promotion who visited the company in August 2013 were extremely interested in this initiative. They heard about the use of subsidies from local authorities and government institutions and about cross-industry collaboration in Higashi Osaka.
