Daiwa Factory Co., Ltd., Yao City, Osaka Prefecture (November, 2014)
The operations of this company, located in the manufacturing town of Yao, involve the design, testing, manufacture and maintenance of conventional products as well as specially ordered metal parts such as corner frames for glass doors and center locks. It boasts high-precision products and high quality, and it is rapidly expanding its stage of activities in the Asian market. President Yutaka Toshida is actively trying to broaden the customer base for his company’s products and searching out local partners, flying to Thailand or Vietnam at a rate of around once a month.
About half the company’s employees are from outside Japan, and all possess specialist skills in manufacturing. Nowadays, the products they make are used not just in Japan but other countries as well. President Toshida serves as chairman of the International Exchange Committee of the Management and Technology Interchange Group Yao (MATEC Yao), and he plays a central role in the Japan-Thailand Small and Medium Enterprise Business Matching Project of Hannan University, which PREX is also involved in.
