Ms. Putthalin KITTIVONG
Managing director PEDCO-TEAM Electrical Engineering Co. Ltd.

Attended the FY 2007 JICA Seminar for Laos Japan Center Business Course

Her company, established in 1995 by her father, is a subcontractor that installs electrical transmissions. Its management comprises five members of the same family, and the company is organized so that engineering staff are hired whenever a work order comes in. It employs from 20 to 30 staff members at a given time. When the company started up, there were about six comparable businesses, but now the number has risen to around 200. Hence, the company now finds itself amid intense competition. After the seminar, she was keen to examine ways of achieving further growth, including studying new business areas she could enter. At her seminar in Japan, she learned about employee involvement, the importance of time management, “3S” activities, leadership, and so on. We have received a message from her telling us how thoroughly useful the seminar has been in her current business management. Her view of management now revolves around the idea of “never giving up on what I learned in Japan.”
