“The content I learned in Japan taught me a great deal. In order to apply it in my own country, a few adjustments will naturally be required, but I still want to carry out several measures in my country.” These are the words of Mr. ASMAT shortly before he returned home. He possesses the passion to improve his country, while his serious attitude during the lectures was impressive. He is putting into practical application a case study he learned about in Japan pertaining to assistance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and he is tackling efforts to enhance programs for the SME support organization where he works. He has been involved in holding events nationwide to transmit relevant information on finance support systems for SMEs, holding a business-plan contest with the aim of fostering the entrepreneurial spirit, and expanding consulting systems. In addition, he is involved in activities to address development for SMEs as he forges ties with Bangladesh’s financial institutions, universities and other organizations.
