PREX Members
Hi, my name is Aoki. It’s nice to meet you.

PREX considers and implements various kinds of seminars, with the goal of cooperating with human-resource training in order to promote development in emerging countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Two months have passed since I joined.
I was given the opportunity to travel on behalf of two seminars: the Rural Agricultural Development for Tanzania Seminar and the Kyrgyzstan Strengthening of Economic Organizations Course.
I carried on with my work while learning all sorts of things from the senior staff members.
Participants came from the United Republic of Tanzania and the Kyrgz Republic for these two seminars, and they acquired knowledge of Japanese agricultural policy and needed reinforcement of economic organizations.

It is necessary for us to grasp the needs demanded by the participants and consider holding seminars that offer a lot of learning opportunities so that the topics learned in Japan can be utilized in local areas.
Many preliminary preparations, including meetings with companies involved in the seminars and work related to the text materials used in the seminars, took place so that the seminars are conducted smoothly.
It is also important to devise ways of keeping the participants satisfied, as we do have pride in the seminars we plan.

While the seminars are under way, we strive to make them the best they can be by ensuring that the participants’ encounters with lecturers and companies offer plenty of learning opportunities. Even during the seminars’ rest breaks, our senior staff members chat with the lecturers and inform them of requests from the participants. With this slight innovation, I can see an improvement in the way the time is spent, with the seminar’s atmosphere made better, and the distance shortened between the lecturers and participants.

There is also a review period with the participants at the end of the seminar. Asking a variety of opinions on whether the seminar was satisfying will be a good opportunity to find issues for the following seminars. As the reviews continue in this way, we are endeavoring day after day so that we can plan and implement even better seminars.
